Hotel Membership Programs

The journey begins/Visit to the Air New Zealand Koru Lounge, Christchurch (Domestic)
Day One
Day Two – Milford Sound, Fiordland, New Zealand

Good Morning! We woke early: At the crack of dawn, and got ready for the big trip ahead. Today was probably the single day we were both most looking forward to while visiting Queenstown – as with any big trip, it’s important to start with a good breakfast. Our stay had complimentary breakfasts included with the room, so we headed down to the hotels’ restaurant ‘Lombardi‘ for a buffet breakfast.

We were greeted at the restaurant front desk and gave the staff our room number; and were invited to take a seat and help ourselves to the freshly cooked and wide breakfast selection available.
Being so early in the morning, there was no shortage of seats – in fact, at that time there was no-one else in the restaurant!

When travelling, a lot of people don’t seem to consider joining Frequent Flyer Programs (FFPs), hotel memberships, and the like. The fact is, there isn’t really a downside to having a membership with a particular airline, a hotel chain, or car rental company – In a lot of cases, having a membership can mean increased benefits, free flights/stays or points accrual, and more. If you happen to use the company enough (frequent flying or a number of stays within a specified time period, etc) then you may increase your status within the program, offering even more benefits.

Then every now and again, a FFP or hotel chain offers a free increased status membership in their program, such as The Langham Hotel and Resort group at the moment.

There are Langham hotels located all around the globe, but notably those close to home are: Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. There are also Langham hotels in Los Angeles, London, New York, and multiple properties in Hong Kong and Shanghai, amongst others. Their full list of hotels and properties are here.

This offer is for those with a Visa Infinite card, to which you enter the first 9 digits of your card should you have one. For those that don’t have a card, you can enter invitation code 453826123 (which might happen to correspond to those that have one of these cards) – This will change your membership tier to “Voyager” (such as in the images below).

Once enrolled, the membership is valid for 1 year (12 months).
